Mobility allowance for visiting research scholar
The research group “Metal Homeostasis in Plant-Microbe Interaction” is offering a mobility allowance for a Senior Researcher to visit our lab at Centro de Biotecnología y Genómica de Plantas (UPM-INIA/CSIC). The purpose of this visit is to collaborate in current efforts to unveil the iron and molybdenum delivery systems in Azotobacter vinelandii, activities within project BNF-Cereals Phase III funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He/she will be responsible for directly undertaking experimental work, optimizing protocols, assist in PhD and lab technician supervision, and co-write publications derived from the experimental work.
The allowance will consist of 40,000 €/year (before taxes) divided in 12 monthly payments, each at the end of each month. Fiscal retentions will be based on the particular place of fiscal residency of the selected candidate. The allowance will be for one year with an optional second year extension should both parties agree. The selected candidate will have the same holiday days as the UPM staff members, and he/she will have health, accident, and civil liability insurance. Termination of this visit will end payments, with the last one covering just the proportional part of the attended days in the last month.
Interested candidates must have a strong background on protein biochemistry, metal transport, and bacterial metal homeostasis studies. He/she must show a leading role in publications in the subject and provide evidence of supervision skills of graduate students in this topic. The selected candidate has to be affiliated as lecturer/researcher to a University/Research Institute.
